Case management services are a covered no-fault insurance benefit if you or a family member is seriously injured in an auto accident. Typically, a case manager is utilized when the injured party suffers a brain injury, has severe or complex medical issues to manage or is elderly or a young accident victim. An injured person has the right to hire their own case manager and is not required to utilize the insurance company’s case manager.
It is recommended that an accident victim hire their own independent case manager.
Case managers will advocate on your behalf and assist in managing your medical needs including the following services:
- Communicate with the insurance company
A case manager should be able to effectively communicate with the insurance adjuster including providing the necessary prescriptions to expedite processing of your no-fault insurance claims.
- Educate you & your family about your diagnosis
Your case manager helps you understand your diagnosis so you can make informed decisions.
- Maintain communication
To ensure that your medical doctors, treatment team and the adjuster are on the same page.
- Help you transition to different care levels

Paperwork can be overwhelming. Your case manager coordinates paperwork with providers and insurance companies, ensuring timely communications, correctly filled-out forms, and organized record-keeping.
